HISTORY

Since 1934, SJSU student media has kept the campus community informed.

With an 85-year history, San José State University's student news media outlets have served the campus community by providing a wide spectrum of news, sports, opinion and entertainment coverage.

In print and online the Spartan Daily has served the university community since 1934.

Update News, the weekly student news broadcast airs every Friday on local cable and online.

The Spear sports magazine provides deep monthly coverage of SJSU athletics online and in print.

FACULTY

A graduate of the School of Journalism and Mass Communications and former executive editor of the Spartan Daily, Mike Corpos returned in 2017 as the Daily's production chief.
Mike comes with 11 years of newsroom experience covering everything from city government to sports to crime in cities from Salt Lake City to Aberdeen, South Dakota to Fairfield, California.
