11:30 p.m. : Trump threatens to disenfranchise votes
Reactions to Trump’s claims have poured out over Twitter and TV broadcasts.
Trump said during his speech that he'll go to the Supreme Court to stop votes from being counted, The Hill reported. Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Sen. Rick Santorum condemned Trump’s remarks in his election address.
As the president threatens to take Pennsylvania absentee ballots to the Supreme Court, The Hill claims the president and his team cannot appeal their case directly to the Supreme Court, but will have to go through the District Courts first.
Pennsylvania has 74% of votes counted with Trump in a 12-point lead as of 12:03 a.m., according to CBS News election night coverage. It also reported that Trump has 55.7% of the state’s votes while Biden has 43%.
Georgia and North Carolina are still toss-up states with very close numbers in both states. Trump has 50.5% of the votes and Biden has 48.3% in Georgia, according to CBS News.
In North Carolina, Trump takes the lead with 50.1% of the votes and Biden with 48.7%, according to The New York Times electoral vote map.
Conservative voices have been vocal about mainstream media election coverage.
“Why is there a hell-fire rush to call every state for Biden but when Trump is ahead in the [Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania] to stop counting and go home?” Daniel Horowitz, senior editor of Conservative Review, tweeted.
10:30 p.m. : Trump declares win despite outstanding ballots
Pennsylvania, Georgia, and North Carolina are still toss-up states as of 10:27 p.m., according to CBS News election night coverage.
CBS reports that Georgia and North Carolina’s final results may come in Wednesday morning.
The news outlet reports that the candidates must have two of the upper-midwest states like Michigan and Wisconsin.
It is clear that we will not know the winner of the presidential election tonight as coverage from the East Coast has gone well into the morning at 1:30 a.m. and updates continue to roll in.
As of 10:32 p.m., Michigan has 61% of votes counted with Trump leading at 53.3% and Biden behind at 44.9%.
The New York Times reported at 10:46 p.m. that Trump’s lead has narrowed in Atlanta as Trump has 50.6% of the votes and Biden has 48.1%.
Meanwhile in Pennsylvania 56.5% of votes are for Trump and 42.1% for Biden and about 68% of votes have been counted, according to CBS News.
Trump is preparing to address the nation, according to several news outlets. The media pool was called to the East Room of The White House around 11 p.m. PST (2 a.m. EST), awaiting the President. At 11:23 p.m., Trump finally made his appearance.
“It’s also clear we’ve won Georgia. They’re never gonna catch up, they can’t catch us,” Trump said. “We’re winning Pennsylvania by a tremendous amount of votes.”
Trump declared premature victory as millions of votes are still being counted across the country.
“Frankly, we did win this election,” he said.
9:30 p.m. : Biden addresses voters in speech
CBS News reported at 9:15 p.m. that Georgia remains a ruby-red state with Trump leading 53.4% of the vote and Biden trailing with 45.4%. The state was a win for Trump even with about 79% of the votes counted, according to CBS news election night coverage.
Biden addressed the nation at 9:45 p.m. PST from Delaware, according to CBS News.
“We’re still in the game in Georgia, although that’s not what we expected,” Biden said. “It’ll take time to count votes, but we’ll win Pennsylvania.”
President Trump tweeted in response at 9:45 p.m., “I will be making a statement tonight. a big WIN!”, though the race for The White House could still go for either candidate.
CBS News reported at 10 p.m. that Trump won Florida and Iowa.
According to CBS News exit polls, a majority of groups supporting Trump identified as white, male, seniors and "economy” voters, which are individuals that vote with the current economic climate as their heaviest influence.
8:30 p.m. : Biden continues to collect most votes
As of 8:30 p.m., Biden leads the presidential race with 209 electoral college votes, according to The Associated Press. Trump has 118 electoral votes.
Fox news declares Trump wins Florida. He is leading with 51.3% to Biden’s 47.8% of the votes. It’s estimated that 96% of votes have been counted.
There’s a 6% chance of a national electoral tie between the two candidates, according to a FiveThirtyEight tweet. FiveThirtyEight is a data company that focuses on polls and app websites.
CBS News declared Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan key states to watch to determine the presidential election.
7:30 p.m. : North Carolina is battling it out
California will close its polls in 30 minutes.
As of 7:30 p.m., about 61% of the votes have been counted in Georgia, according to The Washington Post state coverage. In addition, Trump remains in the lead with 55.6% of the votes with Biden at 43.2%.
With an estimated 97% of votes recorded, The Washington Posts election night coverage projected Trump winning in Florida with 51.2% of the votes compared to Biden’s 47.8%.
Biden’s hometown, Scranton, turned red with only 40%of votes as of 7:48 p.m., according to The Washington Posts election night coverage by state.
As of 7:44 p.m., Biden leads the presidential race with 131 electoral votes compared to Trump, who only has 108, according to NBC news live election night coverage.
6:30 p.m. : Biden takes lead in tight race
North Carolina
North Carolina is a key state to watch, according to The Washington Post. It is also a very tight race with Biden 50.0% to Trump's 48.8%. As of 6 p.m., Biden has a slight lead with 74% of the vote counted in North Carolina, according to CBS News.
North Carolina delayed voting until 8:15 p.m. because voting locations opened late, according to The Washington Post. As of 6:35 p.m, about 20% of the votes had been counted. Moreover, The Washington Post reports Biden is the lead with 50.3% of votes compared to Trump’s 48.5%.
Around 6:30 p.m, The New York Times Electoral Map showed Biden with 50.3% of the vote compared to Trump’s 48.5% in North Carolina.
Florida
The presidential race in Florida is still too close to call, however The Washington Post projects that Donald Trump wins, 51.2%Trump to 47.8% Joseph Biden.
According to NBC News, Trump makes some headway with 98 electoral votes and Biden remains at 131.
Black voters and Latino voters are propelling Trump’s campaign, according to NBC News live coverage on youtube.
According to an Edison exit poll, Trump has picked up more Latino men and women votes up by 3 points, Black men and women votes up by 4 points and white women votes up by 2 points from 2016.
Pennsylvania

As of 6:30 p.m., Biden takes the lead with the most electoral votes, 131, after The Washington Post projects him winning Colorado and New Jersey. Trump has 92 electoral votes andis projected as the winner of Arkansas.
Furthermore, Biden has 49 electoral votes and Trump has 42.
