San Jose State University is sheltering in place Thursday evening after a possible man with a gun was reported in the Spartan Complex. University Police and SJPD surrounded the building and are sweeping all three floors to find the suspect.
UPD's website recommends students remain inside, and keep movement outdoors to a minimum.
The suspect allegedly brandished the weapon off-campus, according UPD Chief Gina Di Napoli. SJPD followed the suspect onto campus, where he went into the Spartan Complex, Di Napoli said.
Several students were barricaded inside the Spartan Complex according to SJPD radio dispatch.
